Raw Food Diet ~ Day 1

Posted by on Dec 29, 2010 in Vegan | 1 comment

So today was THE day.  And I am even sicker than yesterday.  Not cool.  But I stuck with it.  I still had my coffee in the morning.  That is the 5%-10% of our diet that will not be raw.  So, remember the rules are:  no animal products, and nothing that has been cooked or heated above 114 degrees.  Most of the dehydrated stuff is dehydrated at 104 degrees for hours and hours.  That is probably the hardest part of this diet, the prep has to be at...

I’ve noticed lately, that my husband seems to be losing weight.  Now, I am certainly not someone who sits around and doesn’t burn the calories from my meals.  I am at the gym at least 4 days a week.  But, I am stuck in a plateau.  I probably could lose the last 2-3 pounds, if I gave up my wine, but those 3 pounds doesn’t seem THAT important. On to my point.  The Chef works very long hours.  We are talking 10 hour days being termed...

Mousse Pie and No One Got Hurt

Posted by on Jul 24, 2010 in Desserts, Recipes | 1 comment

Finally got to do my white chocolate cherry mousse pie.   Not half bad.  White Chocolate Cherry Mousse Pie Recipe My first try at “any” peaks, much less soft egg white peaks, firm chocolate peaks, and stiff peaks from the mix of both.  In any case, the whites were easy to do and turned out beautiful.  Nice little fluffy clouds.  The chocolate/cream mixture, apparently, I over-mixed.  The thing never got even remotely close to a peak, much less a stiff...
